Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Another wave of terror has struck Nigeria as gunmen abducted 303 children and 12 teachers from St. Mary’s Co-Educational School in Niger State — the second mass kidnapping in a single week. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) released the updated figure after a verification exercise, revealing that nearly half the school’s 629 students were taken in the early-morning raid. This attack comes just days after armed militants seized 25 girls from a school in neighboring Kebbi State, signaling an escalating pattern of coordinated assaults on Christian institutions. As of now, the Nigerian government has yet to comment, fueling growing frustration and fear as families face another devastating crisis with little reassurance of state protection.
For believers watching global events through a biblical lens, the surge in Christian persecution across Nigeria is a sobering fulfillment of Jesus’ warning that in the last days His followers would be hated by all nations for His name’s sake (Matthew 24:9). The mass abduction of children — many under the age of 15 — reflects the brutal tactics of jihadist and criminal networks who view Christian communities as targets for terror, ransom, and ideological domination. With these kidnappings increasing in frequency and scale, Nigeria’s crisis underscores the spiritual warfare raging worldwide. The church in Nigeria is crying out — and their suffering stands as a prophetic reminder that darkness is rising, even as the hour of Christ’s return draws near.
