Nearly four out of five Israelis now fear that an October 7-style attack could erupt from Judea and Samaria, according to a new survey released by the Jerusalem Center for Foreign Affairs and Security. The poll found that 77% of Israelis—and an extraordinary 86% of Jewish Israelis—are concerned that Palestinian Authority security forces could participate in a large-scale assault similar to Hamas’ October 7, 2023 massacre. The survey, conducted September 2–4 among 703 respondents, also found that 67% of Israelis oppose establishing a Palestinian state along the 1967 lines, including 75% of Jewish respondents. The fear is not isolated to this survey: an Israel Democracy Institute poll released last month found that 72% of Israelis believe there is a high likelihood of another Palestinian uprising in Judea and Samaria in the foreseeable future, up sharply from 59% in November 2025.
