The world today bears striking similarities to the conditions described before the flood in Genesis 6:6, where the earth was filled with corruption and violence. Across the globe, we witness unprecedented bloodshed: seventy Christians beheaded in the Congo, 1,300 massacred in Syria, and the continuation of abortion despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The war in Ukraine persists with uncertain ceasefire negotiations, and tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East. The violence of our age is undeniable, setting the stage for what Jesus foretold as the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21-22), a time when the world will reach the brink of destruction.
This unraveling of morality reflects the downward spiral outlined in Romans 1:28-32, where those who reject God are given over to debased minds. This spiritual decay manifests in lawlessness, deception, and the rampant destruction of innocent lives. Leaders, failing to protect the vulnerable, enable chaos and disorder. The world’s moral compass has been shattered as governments condone sin, leading to lawlessness and murder. Those with reprobate minds cannot discern right from wrong, echoing Paul’s warning that such people not only practice evil but also approve of it (Romans 1:32).
Yet, God will not allow this violence to continue indefinitely. Just as He judged the world in Noah’s day, He will soon intervene. Psalm 75:6-8 describes His coming judgment, where He will pour out His wrath on the wicked. The book of Revelation details this divine reckoning, yet even in judgment, God offers a chance for repentance. But as the Day of the Lord draws near, we take hope in His promise that the Church will be delivered from the coming wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10). The escalating global violence is not just tragic; it is prophetic, signaling that the return of Christ is near. READ MORE
