ADF Rebels Massacre Patients in Hospital

Nov 18, 2025

At least 20 people were killed early Saturday when Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) jihadists stormed the Byambwe Reference Health Center in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Christian-majority Lubero territory. Rebels executed 18 patients in their hospital beds before looting medical supplies, burning nearby homes, and murdering two more residents. Local leaders say the region has become a “theater of civilian massacres,” with terrified families fleeing toward Butembo and roads at risk of being cut off entirely. What should be a place of healing has become a killing ground—another reminder of the escalating brutality Christians face across central Africa.

North Kivu Provincial Assembly member Mwami Bogombi Faïsi Enock issued a desperate plea following the attack, calling the region “a human slaughterhouse” and accusing the government of ignoring repeated warnings. His words echo the cries of persecuted believers around the world who suffer violence simply for existing in territories targeted by jihadist militias. These atrocities reflect the growing lawlessness and hatred Jesus warned would intensify as the end approaches. While global headlines fixate on political theater, entire Christian communities are being driven from their homes under the shadow of radical Islamist terror.
