Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Artificial intelligence is now stepping into the sacred, with millions of people turning to “Christian” chatbot apps that present themselves as spiritual guides—some even going so far as to speak as if they were God. One app, Bible Chat, boasts over 25 million users and claims its AI was trained solely on Scripture with the input of pastors and theologians. Another, ChatWithGod.ai, greets users with phrases like, “Greetings, my child,” and speaks of God’s divine plan. For many who have never set foot in a church, these apps are marketed as an easy gateway to faith, offering prayer, confession, and counsel at the touch of a screen.
Yet beneath the glossy claims lies a troubling reality. These programs are not divinely inspired; they are algorithms rearranging biblical text to mimic God’s voice. Experts warn that because AI is designed to please users rather than exercise true discernment, it risks telling people only what they want to hear. Some users are already falling into delusion, a phenomenon dubbed “AI psychosis,” where chatbot companionship blurs the line between reality and illusion. Leaders within the church stress that AI lacks a soul and cannot replace real fellowship or divine connection. What we are witnessing is not a spiritual revival but a counterfeit—a digital idol that could reshape how millions perceive God, faith, and truth in the last days.
