A suspicious YouTube channel titled "Voddie Baucham World" has come under scrutiny for posting AI-generated videos that falsely present themselves as sermons by conservative evangelical pastor Voddie Baucham. Launched in late March, the channel has published over 100 videos, many of which contradict Baucham's well-documented Reformed Baptist theology. One such video even promotes female pastors—despite Baucham’s firm, biblically rooted stance against women in pastoral roles. The sermons feature thumbnails that use AI to mimic his likeness, and the audio carries an unnatural, robotic tone that betrays its artificial origins.
Despite the red flags, the channel has attracted nearly 2,000 subscribers, with some viewers seemingly unaware of the deception. The description falsely promotes the content as life-changing teaching from Baucham, known for his clarity on cultural and biblical issues. The same pattern has been observed in another channel called "John MacArthur World," which appears to use similar tactics to replicate the preaching of the longtime California pastor. Both channels were likely created by the same individuals using AI to generate persuasive but misleading content. This controversy arises just months after Baucham announced his return to the U.S. to launch Founders Seminary with fellow pastor and close friend Tom Ascol.
