Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Artificial intelligence is now boldly stepping into spiritual territory, with multiple apps claiming to be none other than Jesus Christ Himself. These so-called “AI Jesus” chatbots greet users with words as if from the Son of God, offering guidance, answering prayers, and even receiving confessions. Yet, as Mark 13:22 warns, “For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect.” What we are witnessing is a dangerous counterfeit—a digital idol created not to glorify the true Christ, but to profit from His name. These programs are not endorsed by any church, are built by secular companies, and operate with profit as their primary motive, shaping their “theology” based on popularity rather than truth. This is not the Gospel—it is a distortion designed for clicks, subscriptions, and influence.
A recent study found these AI “Jesus” platforms giving conflicting answers to core theological questions, revealing their foundation is in programming code and data sets, not divine revelation. Even more concerning, some churches are entertaining their use, with AI Jesus installed in confession booths or delivering sermons to congregations. The prophetic significance is sobering—this is a foretaste of the deception Scripture warns will grow in the last days, preparing hearts to follow a false image of Christ when the ultimate deception comes under the Antichrist. The real danger is not that these bots exist, but that they are being embraced by those who should know the Word of God, yet instead are seeking comfort from a machine. The Bible warns in 2 Thessalonians 2:10–11 that God will send a strong delusion to those who “did not receive the love of the truth.” In our time, this delusion is already taking shape, and it wears the name of Jesus while speaking with the voice of the serpent.
