Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

New data from OpenAI reveal a deeply troubling reality: over one million ChatGPT users have expressed suicidal thoughts or intent in their conversations. According to the company, about 0.15% of its 800 million weekly users show explicit signs of suicidal planning, while another 0.07% exhibit signs of severe mental health emergencies such as psychosis or mania. The revelations come amid growing debate about the spiritual and psychological toll of artificial intelligence as people increasingly turn to machines for comfort, guidance, and human connection.
For prophecy watchers, this isn’t just a mental health concern—it’s a sign of a deeper spiritual famine in the digital age. As technology blurs the lines between human empathy and artificial intelligence, millions are reaching out to lifeless algorithms instead of the living God. Jesus said in John 10:10 that the thief comes “to steal and kill and destroy,” and the digital age has given him new tools. Humanity’s growing dependence on AI for emotional and moral support may be a prophetic echo of a world preparing to worship a false image rather than the Creator Himself.
