Antisemitic Attacks Follow NYC Election

Antisemitic Vandalism Strikes Brooklyn After Mamdani Victory

Just hours after the election of anti-Israel politician Zohran Mamdani as New York City’s new mayor, three Jewish sites in Brooklyn were defaced with swastikas, including the Magen David Yeshiva on McDonald Avenue. The hateful symbols were discovered early Wednesday morning on the school’s entrance and windows, sparking outrage and fear within the Jewish community. New York Governor Kathy Hochul condemned the attacks as “horrific acts of antisemitic violence” and pledged an additional $20 million to protect vulnerable communities. Local official Kalman Yeger Sutton noted that the sites were targeted “simply because they stand for Judaism,” calling the attacks “unacceptable in our state.”

The timing of these acts of hate is deeply symbolic. As New York—once a refuge for Jewish immigrants—elects a mayor openly hostile toward Israel, the spiritual climate mirrors the growing global animosity toward God’s chosen people. Scripture warns that in the last days “all nations will be gathered against Jerusalem” (Zechariah 12:3), and we are watching the seeds of that prophecy take root even in America’s largest city. The rise of antisemitism is not merely political—it is prophetic, a reminder that while the world’s hatred grows, God’s covenant with Israel stands unshaken.
