Antisemitic Killings Hit 30-Year High

Apr 13, 2026

A new report from Tel Aviv University reveals that 2025 marked the deadliest year for Diaspora Jews in antisemitic attacks in more than three decades. According to the findings, 20 Jews were killed in four separate incidents across three continents, making it the highest death toll since 1994. While overall antisemitic incidents such as vandalism and harassment declined in some regions compared to 2024, violent attacks—including beatings and physical assaults—became more frequent and severe.

The report highlights that antisemitism remains significantly elevated across Western nations, with incident levels still far above those recorded before the October 7 attacks. Countries like Australia and Canada recorded their highest levels of antisemitic activity on record, underscoring the global nature of the trend. Researchers noted that the rise in severe violence reflects a broader pattern in which unchecked minor offenses can escalate into more dangerous acts.

The report also pointed to the growing role of “lone wolf” attackers, making such incidents more difficult to predict and prevent. The findings paint a sobering picture of a world where antisemitic violence is becoming increasingly normalized, with far-reaching implications for Jewish communities worldwide. As the trend continues, the report calls attention to the urgent need for vigilance and stronger responses to rising hostility.
