Antisemitism Surges Amid Iran War

Mar 9, 2026

The outbreak of war involving Iran has triggered a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents across the globe. According to data compiled by the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM, reports of antisemitic activity surged by 34% in the days following the conflict. Researchers documented 154 incidents worldwide, nearly half of which were directly tied to reactions surrounding the war. Many involved individuals glorifying the Iranian regime, spreading conspiracy theories blaming Jews or Israel for the conflict, or openly calling for violence against Jewish communities.

The incidents have appeared across multiple countries and ideological movements. Demonstrations in London featured chants calling for the destruction of Tel Aviv, while several far-left organizations in New York issued statements praising Iranian attacks against Israel. Online rhetoric has also intensified, with various public figures promoting conspiracy theories claiming that Jewish groups orchestrated the conflict. In one tragic example, a gunman wearing clothing displaying the phrase “Property of Allah” and an Iranian flag design opened fire at a bar in Austin, Texas, killing three people before being shot by police. Authorities later confirmed the suspect had a history of antisemitic posts online.
