Board of Peace envoy says full execution of Gaza plan only ‘guarantee’ Oct. 7 won’t recur
Nickolay Mladenov, the Gaza envoy of the US-backed Board of Peace, sought to dispel skepticism in Israel about the board’s roadmap for the disarmament of Hamas in the Strip, arguing that the plan’s full implementation is Israel’s only “guarantee” of preventing a repeat of the October 7, 2023, massacre, and that it will be based on verifiable steps, rather than trust of the terror group.
Another fresh batch of UFO files was released on Friday by the Pentagon
The latest selection of files includes a cache of 12 previously unseen videos of mystery objects sighted around the world. The publication of the US government’s secretive UFO files seems to be showing no signs of slowing down, as evidenced by yet another release - this time featuring 41 files. One of the videos shows a strange object - described as a “cold orb” - that was said to be 4ft in diameter and capable of flitting around in irregular patterns. There is also a clip showing a black spherical object over the Pacific back in 2019. The files also include the testimony of a pilot who first observed something strange during a flight between Boston and Dublin in 2023. Not only did he maintain that he had seen the same phenomenon as many as ten more times, but he also claimed that several other pilots he knew had reported encountering something very similar.
Abdul El-Sayed Advocates for Sharia Law in the U.S. — Compared Oklahoma’s Anti-Sharia Amendment to the Trail of Tears and Oklahoma City Bombing
Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed wants Americans to believe that opposition to Sharia in state courts belongs in the same historical indictment as some of the darkest crimes ever committed on American soil. Speaking to the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, El-Sayed declared: “You can’t understand a Sharia ban without understanding the Trail of Tears.” He then invoked white supremacy and said the “same exact forces” were behind Native American removal, the destruction of Black Wall Street, the Oklahoma City bombing and Oklahoma’s attempt to bar courts from considering Sharia law, according to the Washington Free Beacon’s report and video.
Pakistan defense chief calls Israel ‘common threat’ after new Saudi-Turkey defense pact
Pakistan’s defense minister on Friday called for Muslim countries to unite against what he described as a common threat from Israel, shortly after Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey signed a trilateral defense agreement. Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif declared, “The Islamic world must unite to confront the common threat posed by Israel.” “Israel poses a threat to all of us. Islamic countries must adopt a coordinated approach to address this threat.” Asif also described Israel as an “illegitimate state,” referring to the 1917 British Balfour Declaration, which expressed support for the establishment of a Jewish national home in the land of Israel.
ASU Encourages Freshmen To Take Courses On LGBTQ+ Identity And Witchcraft
Arizona State University is encouraging freshmen to take courses on LGBTQ+ identity and witchcraft. The LGBTQ+ identity course, “LGBTQ+ Cinema and TV in Pop Culture,” is taught by Gabriel Acevedo, assistant professor of English and Puerto Rican native. While teaching at a Catholic school in Puerto Rico, Acevedo introduced LGBTQ+ poetry to his students. The ASU course focuses on mobilizing progressive ideas of gender, sexuality, and LGBTQ+ identities through pop culture, namely visual media like TV and movies. The witchcraft course, “Witches in the Age of #WitchTok,” is taught by Susan Nguyen, a poet and the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing editor-in-chief of ASU’s international literary journal, Hayden’s Ferry Review. “#WitchTok” refers to the viral online subculture with millions of posts and billions of views dedicated to witchcraft. Creators who engage in this online subculture practice witchcraft and many use their platforms to educate others practicing, to include spells, potions, and divination. Users attest to communicating with deities such as Hekate, or creatures like fairies and forest nymphs.
Flock pitched turning Uber and Lyft drivers into a mobile surveillance network
Flock Safety, the company behind a nationwide network of automatic license plate readers, pitched a plan to convert hundreds of thousands of Uber, Lyft, and delivery drivers into a mobile extension of its surveillance system, according to a company presentation obtained by 404 Media. 404’s Joseph Cox wrote that the document describes equipping driver vehicles with dashcams capable of scanning license plates along their routes, effectively expanding Flock’s network beyond its usual fixed cameras mounted on poles. The presentation centers on a proposed partnership with Nexar, a dashcam maker whose devices are already marketed to rideshare drivers and commuters. Cox reported that 404 Media had previously uncovered the planned partnership last year through separate sourcing, and that this newly obtained document shows Flock was actively marketing the arrangement to prospective customers around that same period.
New Orleans Deploys AI for 911 Calls
New Orleans has become the first major U.S. city to publicly acknowledge the use of AI to help answer and triage certain 911 calls. The Orleans Parish Communication District (OPCD), which handles emergency calls in New Orleans, has deployed an AI-powered system developed by emergency communications technology company Carbyne. According to OPCD Executive Director Karl Fasold, dispatchers frequently receive dozens of calls about the same crash. Because 911 calls are generally answered in the order they arrive, multiple reports about a single incident can slow responses to unrelated emergencies such as heart attacks, shootings, or house fires.
Coca-Cola Faces Boycott Calls Over Claims Custom Cans Allegedly BANS “Jesus is King” But Allows “Allah is King” and “Satan is King”
Coca-Cola is facing a new wave of backlash after viral videos appeared to show the company’s online personalization tool immediately rejecting positive Christian messages, while references to Allah, Satan, and even degrading attacks on Jesus advanced to the preview stage. Conservative commentator Isabel Brown tested the customizer on camera after receiving a tip from a friend. In the video, phrases including “Allah is good,” “Muhammad is good,” and “Satan is good” appeared to generate can previews. But when Brown entered “Jesus is good,” the site returned a rejection message: “The name or phrase you’ve submitted is not permitted.” The same immediate rejection appeared for “Virgin Mary,” “Jesus Christ,” “Holy Trinity,” “Holy Spirit,” “Jesus is God,” and “Christ is King,” according to the recording.
Typhoon Dolphin: more than a million people evacuated in China as record rainfall dumped on Shanghai
More than a million people were moved to safety across eastern China by Sunday evening as powerful Typhoon Dolphin made landfall amid fears torrential rain would cause flooding and landslides. Wenzhou, a coastal city in Zhejiang province, said it relocated more than 900,000 people and opened more than 1,500 emergency shelters. In neighboring Fujian, 98,900 people were moved from high-risk areas. In Shanghai, 215,600 people were moved from areas considered at risk by Sunday evening, substantially higher than an earlier figure of 30,300. A weather station in central Shanghai recorded nearly 313mm of rain in the 24 hours to 7am on Monday, its highest 24-hour rainfall in more than 150 years of records. Another station in the city recorded nearly 400mm. The hashtag “Shanghai turns into the sea” began trending on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, as videos circulated showing streets flooded around the Wukang Mansion, one of the city’s best-known tourist landmarks.
