The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, launched in 2005 by Palestinian activist Omar Barghouti, has become a weaponized campaign against Israel and the global Jewish community. While it cloaks itself in the language of human rights, BDS is a modern incarnation of antisemitism, echoing the propaganda and ideological hatred once championed by the Nazis and the Muslim Brotherhood. Under the guise of “justice for Palestinians,” it wages a cultural, academic, and economic war aimed at delegitimizing Israel’s existence. Since Hamas’s brutal October 7, 2023, massacre, the movement has gained alarming traction, amplifying chants like “From the river to the sea,” a slogan that calls for Israel’s total destruction. New forms of BDS activism—such as the “No Music for Genocide” campaign—continue to infiltrate the arts, media, and academia, spreading psychological warfare that isolates Israel and emboldens its enemies under a banner of moral pretense.

Attorney Lana Melman, CEO of Liberate Art, rightly calls these efforts symbolic and hypocritical, pointing out that if the true goal were peace, activists would urge Hamas to renounce terror rather than reward it. Yet, despite undeniable evidence of atrocities committed by Palestinian militants, nations across Europe and beyond have chosen to side against Israel, echoing ancient patterns of deception and betrayal. As antisemitic violence resurfaces—even during sacred days like Yom Kippur—Scripture reminds believers to remain steadfast. Zechariah 12:3 warns that those who attempt to move against Jerusalem will only bring injury upon themselves. In this prophetic moment, the darkness encircling Israel serves as a signal, not of defeat, but of the nearing fulfillment of God’s Word. As Corrie ten Boom once said, when the train enters a tunnel, we must not jump off in fear but trust the Engineer. Likewise, believers today must hold fast, pray for Israel, and stand firm in truth—knowing that God’s covenant with His people remains immovable.
