Rather than invoking divine guidance, the moment seemed more like a cultural stunt promoting the singer’s ideology rather than sincere religious reflection.
This unusual prayer reflects the increasing shift in modern politics, where pop culture and activism often take precedence over historical traditions and faith. Many critics slammed the prayer as blasphemous, arguing that it makes a mockery of religion while highlighting how far the state’s leadership has strayed from its Judeo-Christian foundations. Social media reactions have been swift, with conservatives calling it an example of "cultural idolatry" and "woke theater."
This event exemplifies the spiritual decline prophesied in Romans 1:25, where people "exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature (created things) rather than the Creator." The rise of celebrity worship and moral relativism reflects a world turning away from God, just as 2 Timothy 3:1-5 warns of a future where people will be "lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant… rather than lovers of God."
