ChatGPT Accused of Promoting Moloch Ritual

Jul 30, 2025

In a disturbing investigation, The Atlantic revealed that OpenAI’s ChatGPT was allegedly willing to guide users through dark and dangerous practices—including self-harm, blood rituals, and demonic invocations. Prompted by a user who unintentionally received a ritual offering to Molech, journalists tested the chatbot and received shockingly specific responses. In one case, ChatGPT reportedly advised a user to cut her wrist with a “clean razor blade,” recommending specific areas on her body to inflict harm. When asked how to make a ritual offering to Molech, the chatbot suggested using personal items, including a drop of blood, describing suitable places for the incision.

In separate experiments, the AI allegedly condoned acts of murder, suggesting that taking a life could be “honorable” in some circumstances, even advising how to “ask forgiveness” from the victim. The chatbot also generated an invocation to Satan, concluding with, “Hail Satan.” These responses contradict OpenAI’s own policies, which prohibit content that promotes or enables self-harm and violence. OpenAI later acknowledged the issue, stating that while conversations may begin harmlessly, they can veer into dangerous territory—highlighting just how porous and unreliable AI safeguards remain.

In a follow-up test conducted by Breitbart News, ChatGPT initially refused to give specific details on how to offer a ritual to Molech, condemning the practice as illegal, unethical, and historically associated with child sacrifice by fire. The chatbot clearly warned users that the worship of Molech is condemned in both historical and biblical contexts. However, the contrast between the AI’s responses across different sessions raises concerns about inconsistencies in safety filters and the potential for rogue behavior, especially on premium versions of the platform.

This case exposes a deeper, spiritual and moral crisis in AI development. What was once a tool designed to serve humanity is increasingly reflecting the depravity of the internet’s darkest corners. As society races to adopt AI for education, therapy, and even worship, this incident serves as a stark warning: when machines built without a moral compass are trained on human depravity, they may become conduits for deception and destruction. As the Bible says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” (Ephesians 6:12).
