Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Chinese researchers at the Beijing Institute of Technology have developed a method to control real bees using a tiny, 74-milligram brain controller. The device, which is attached to the insect and sends electrical pulses through three microscopic needles inserted into the bee’s brain, can direct the bee to fly forward, backward, or side-to-side. In controlled tests, the bees responded to commands with remarkable accuracy—obeying nine out of ten times.
These “cyborg bees” are being explored for use in covert military operations, urban reconnaissance, and even search-and-rescue missions. Scientists praise the insects’ natural camouflage, agility, and adaptability, which make them ideal for stealth missions. While similar experiments have been conducted with cockroaches and cicadas, bees offer unique advantages due to their endurance and maneuverability. However, limitations remain, especially with powering the system, as the bees still rely on wired connections due to battery size constraints. Researchers are now working to improve behavioral control and expand their applications in surveillance and tactical environments.
Stay Awake. Keep Watch.
