Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

The cultural takeover of America’s institutions has now reached directly into the sanctuary. For years, the far left has targeted the church as the final stronghold that must be reshaped, reimagined, and ultimately stripped of biblical authority. While many congregations have remained faithful to Scripture, others have merged activism with theology—trading repentance for revolution and the gospel for grievance politics. One of the most striking examples comes from Lake Street Church of Evanston, Illinois, which unveiled a Nativity scene designed not to honor the birth of Christ but to condemn U.S. immigration policies under President Trump. The display shows baby Jesus bound with zip ties under a Mylar blanket, Mary and Joseph wearing gas masks, and Roman soldiers depicted as ICE agents. The church openly admits the installation is intended to “reimagine the nativity as a scene of forced family separation,” using the imagery of detention centers to advance a political narrative.
This is more than misguided symbolism—it’s a sign of the theological drift the Bible warns will define the last days. Instead of proclaiming the gospel, some churches now amplify state ideology and progressive activism. By recasting the Holy Family through the lens of modern political messaging, Lake Street Church has turned the incarnation of Christ into a protest art exhibit. This is what happens when cultural Marxism infiltrates the pulpit: Scripture becomes a prop, the Nativity becomes a stage, and Christ becomes a mascot for secular agendas. The apostle Paul warned that a time would come when people would “not endure sound doctrine,” replacing truth with stories that suit their passions. We are watching that prophecy unfold—not only in universities, corporations, and governments, but now in churches that were once entrusted to guard the faith.
