Columbia Suspends/Expels Anti-Israel Protesters

Columbia University has announced disciplinary actions against students who participated in last spring’s takeover of a campus building during an anti-Israel protest. According to university officials, punishments include multiyear suspensions, temporary degree revocations, and expulsions. However, due to federal privacy laws, the university has not disclosed the names or the exact number of students affected by these measures.


This decision follows intense scrutiny from both the public and the Trump administration, which recently withdrew $400 million in federal funding from the university due to its "inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students." Columbia has faced ongoing criticism for its handling of antisemitism on campus, particularly in the wake of the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre in Israel. The university’s leadership has seen significant upheaval, including the resignations of three deans and President Minouche Shafik after accusations of mishandling antisemitic incidents.


The increasing hostility toward Israel and Jewish people aligns with Zechariah 12:3, which warns that Jerusalem will become a "burdensome stone" to the nations. As tensions rise, believers must stand firm in supporting Israel, praying for the Jewish people, and recognizing these events as signs pointing toward the fulfillment of end-times prophecy.
