This proposed associate status would not include voting rights or require the U.S. to follow the Commonwealth’s rules, but would instead serve as a ceremonial affirmation of the longstanding “special relationship” between the two nations.
The article suggests that this move could be a legacy-defining decision for King Charles and a way to further bond English-speaking nations. It would also mark the first time King Charles hosts a U.S. president in a formal state visit since ascending the throne. Trump has previously expressed admiration for the royal family, referring to King Charles as a “great guy.” Buckingham Palace has not commented publicly, and it is unclear how this proposal would be received by American or international audiences.
Such alliances, especially among global powers with shared language, commerce, and culture, echo the prophetic anticipation of an increasingly unified world system. While this proposal may appear harmless or even ceremonial, the Bible points to a time when global alliances and political unity will be leveraged by a future world leader: the Antichrist.
