A federal judge has ruled that the Ten Commandments monument at the Arkansas State Capitol is unconstitutional, citing violations of the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause. Kristine G. Baker determined that the display improperly represented government endorsement of a specific religious belief. The ruling also struck down related state laws that authorized the monument and restricted the placement of other displays on Capitol grounds.
