Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

A striking conversation recently unfolded between Mohammad Tawhidi and Israeli Middle East scholar Mordechai Kedar, centering on Jerusalem’s most contested real estate. Tawhidi openly described the Dome of the Rock as a historical and political barrier to peace, challenging the widespread assumption that the site is immovable due to Islamic theology. Pointing to the Temple Mount, he argued that the structure itself is often misunderstood, even among Muslims, and that its presence has been leveraged to erase Jewish history and Jewish claims rather than preserve genuine religious harmony.
Kedar responded by grounding the discussion in Jewish tradition, explaining that the First and Second Temples stood where the Dome of the Rock now sits, while also noting that Judaism does not currently permit Jews to enter the most sacred area. Rather than advocating human action, Kedar emphasized a long-held belief that the Third Temple will be established by God Himself, in His timing and by His power alone. Tawhidi, notably, did not object to that premise. Instead, he insisted that the real conflict is not about peaceful coexistence of religious structures, but about efforts to deny any Jewish presence on the Mount, framing the Dome of the Rock as a political symbol elevated beyond its actual religious standing.
This exchange is prophetically significant because it highlights how Jerusalem remains the epicenter of spiritual and geopolitical tension just as Scripture foretold. The Temple Mount is not merely disputed land; it is the focal point of competing claims, end-time expectations, and divine purpose. The very fact that a prominent Muslim cleric can publicly acknowledge the temporary nature of the Dome of the Rock—and speak openly about a future temple—underscores how the ground is shifting beneath long-standing narratives. As global attention increasingly converges on Jerusalem, these conversations signal that the question of the Temple is no longer theoretical. It is moving steadily from the realm of taboo into open discussion, exactly as the Bible indicates would happen as history accelerates toward its climax.
