Dozens of Students Abducted in Nigeria

Nov 21, 2025

Persecution in Nigeria has surged once again as gunmen stormed St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State early Friday, abducting dozens of students and staff in a brazen attack targeting youth. Local media reported that as many as 52 children were taken from the school in the Papiri community of Agwara. While state authorities confirmed the kidnapping, they have yet to release an exact number of victims. Police and military forces were deployed within hours, but families remain desperate for answers as Nigeria’s kidnapping epidemic continues to worsen — especially for Christian communities in the country’s central and northern regions.

Nigeria has become one of the world’s most dangerous places to follow Christ, and this attack reflects a dark pattern that aligns with what Jesus warned: persecution intensifying as lawlessness increases (Matthew 24:9–12). The victims — students between ages 12 and 17 — represent the next generation of believers targeted by militant groups seeking to terrorize Christian communities into silence or displacement. As global leaders remain largely silent, believers must stay alert and intercede for the persecuted church. This is not random violence — it is a sign of the growing spiritual conflict Scripture foretold would mark the last days.
