Extremist Islamic Networks in Texas Exposed

Jul 23, 2025

In a bold move that many political leaders shy away from, Tarrant County GOP Chairman Bo French has launched an independent investigation into extremist Islamic networks quietly operating across North Texas. Unlike others who downplay or ignore the growing threat, French is sounding the alarm on radical influences infiltrating religious, social, and even political spheres within the Lone Star State. What he uncovered is alarming: ties to terrorist sympathizers, radical clerics, and organizations pushing dangerous ideologies—all hiding in plain sight.

One particularly concerning figure is Imam Ilir Aliji Koka of the Xhamia Shqiptare mosque, who studied under prominent extremist clerics such as Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh and Abdul-Rahman al-Barrak—both known for issuing violent fatwas and spreading anti-Christian, anti-Jewish rhetoric. Koka is linked to the Al-Hirz Institute, whose leadership has expressed admiration for the Taliban and open support for ISIS. These radical connections are not confined to religious circles. French also notes the influence reaching into state politics, including State Rep. Salman Bhojani, whose legislative record raises red flags about the advancement of an Islamic political agenda in Texas.
