Britt Gillette posted a video in his Substack and on YouTube on 3/12/2025, about Ezekiel 38-39. Britt talked about how recent geopolitical developments are further setting the stage for the prophesied Gog of Magog War described in Ezekiel 38-39.
Britt highlights how Russia, Turkey, and Iran (key members of the Gog of Magog alliance) are already positioning themselves in the Middle East, particularly in Syria, which borders Israel.
Russia is strengthening its foothold in the region. Despite changes in Syria’s leadership, Moscow continues to maintain its air and naval bases along the Mediterranean coast, ensuring its influence remains. Additionally, reports indicate that Russia is moving military assets to Libya, another nation listed in Ezekiel’s prophecy.
Turkey is also making strategic moves, considering permanent military bases in Syria while opposing Kurdish autonomy in the region. Turkey’s president, Erdoğan, has openly called for an Islamic alliance against Israel.
Iran is expanding its presence, particularly in the Red Sea, by supporting Sudan’s army and increasing its foothold in the region. Iran also continues to back terrorist groups like Hezbollah and the Houthis, creating further instability.
Britt points out that all three of these nations (Russia, Turkey, and Iran) now have military forces stationed in Syria, directly on Israel’s northern border. This is an unprecedented development in history and precisely aligns with Ezekiel’s prophecy. Interestingly, he notes that Israel itself is lobbying the United States to allow Russian bases to remain in Syria. This is part of an effort to counter Turkey’s growing influence, demonstrating how these nations are entangled in a web of alliances and strategic interests.
Ezekiel 38:8 describes Israel as living in “peace and security” when this invasion takes place. While Israel is currently surrounded by enemies, Britt explains that a temporary peace could be on the horizon. Whether through a diplomatic agreement or a false sense of security, conditions could quickly shift, leading Israel to lower its defenses just before the prophesied invasion.
According to Britt, this alliance is forming right before our eyes, something that has never occurred in human history. Ezekiel 38:15-16 states:
"You will come from your place out of the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you… You will come against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the last days that I will bring you against My land…"
As Britt emphasizes, Russia, Iran, and Turkey are already in place. If the United States withdraws from Syria, these nations will have even greater freedom to divide the region as they see fit, creating the conditions for the future invasion of Israel.
