F-35 Deal With Saudis Alarms Israel

Nov 18, 2025

President Donald Trump confirmed Monday that the U.S. plans to sell advanced F-35 stealth fighters to Saudi Arabia — a historic move that immediately triggered alarm in Jerusalem. Israel remains the only Middle Eastern nation with the fifth-generation jet, a strategic edge Washington has long protected to maintain Israel’s Qualitative Military Edge (QME). But with Riyadh now seeking as many as 48 F-35s, Israeli officials are urging the U.S. to make any sale conditional on Saudi Arabia formally joining the Abraham Accords. Former Israeli Air Force commander Aharon Lapidot warned that introducing F-35s into Saudi hands would fundamentally alter the region’s military balance, shifting not only airpower but long-term strategic calculations in an already unstable arena.

Israel stresses it does not view Saudi Arabia as an enemy — the concern lies in what tomorrow may bring as alliances shift and regimes change. In the prophetic landscape, the Middle East continues to move toward new alignments that echo the geopolitical shaking foretold in Scripture. As nations arm themselves with unprecedented power and the region inches toward deeper integration, these developments point to a rapidly evolving stage where future conflicts and prophetic fulfillments become increasingly plausible. The conversation around F-35s is more than a weapons deal — it’s another sign of the times.
