Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

The world celebrated as President Trump stood before the Knesset, proclaiming peace in the Middle East and declaring “the end of an age of terror.” With hostages freed and sirens silent, global leaders rejoiced in what they believed marked a turning point in history. Yet, while the world applauds the promise of calm, the spiritual reality beneath the surface tells a different story. The ceasefire may have paused the visible conflict, but it cannot rewrite the theological and ideological roots of jihad that have endured for centuries. To believe that mankind can legislate or negotiate away spiritual darkness is to forget that humanity’s wars are not merely political—they are deeply spiritual.
Trump’s achievement may signal a momentary lull in global tension, but prophetic discernment reminds us that false peace often precedes greater turmoil. The Scriptures warn of a time when people will declare, “Peace and safety,” only for sudden destruction to follow (1 Thessalonians 5:3). The world’s leaders envision a new “age of faith and hope,” yet faith divorced from truth becomes a counterfeit—an empty utopia built on compromise. The militant ideologies that fuel terror cannot be bargained out of existence; they are spiritual forces that only Christ Himself will ultimately conquer.
As believers, we should rejoice in the return of captives, but not mistake a fragile truce for the dawn of lasting peace. The prophet Joel warns that before true peace comes, swords will again be drawn, and the nations will gather for battle (Joel 3:9-10). The stage is being set for the illusion of global harmony—a peace born of political maneuvering, not divine reconciliation. So don’t beat your swords into plowshares just yet. The world’s celebration may echo with promises of unity, but heaven’s watchmen know: the final conflict is still ahead.
