Riaan Swiegelaar, once a high-ranking leader in the Church of Satan, is sounding the alarm this October — warning Christians that Halloween is far from harmless fun. Now a born-again believer after a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ, Swiegelaar says Halloween is “the highest day on the Satanic calendar,” marked by blood rituals and spiritual warfare. He told CBN News that Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan, once celebrated how Christians let their children “worship the devil one night of the year.” Swiegelaar calls this “a one-night stand with the devil,” noting that Halloween’s symbols—death, spirits, and darkness—mirror the enemy’s true agenda: to “kill, steal, and destroy.” He warns that what many view as cultural tradition is actually participation in a spiritual ritual that honors the demonic.

Swiegelaar explains that Halloween desensitizes society, especially children, to death and the occult, creating “hot spots of demonic activity” in neighborhoods that celebrate it. “You are opening doors to the dark side of the spirit world,” he said. From his firsthand experience in Satanism, Swiegelaar revealed that October is the month of the most human and animal sacrifices worldwide, describing blood as “a currency in the spirit world.” His message to believers is clear: the Church must stand guard in prayer, rejecting the normalization of darkness disguised as entertainment. “This is not child’s play,” he warns. “It’s a global ritual of rebellion against God.”
