Two months ago, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee introduced the GENIUS Act—a bill presented as a framework for regulating stablecoins but signaling something far more consequential: the groundwork for a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). Though marketed as a step toward financial clarity in the digital age, the legislation would have created the first real foothold for a monitored and controlled currency system in America. While the bill ultimately failed in the Senate by a narrow margin, the bipartisan support it initially received—and the vague reasoning behind its shelving—suggests this is merely a pause, not a defeat. From a prophetic viewpoint, this move aligns with the emergence of the Revelation 13 economy, where the ability to buy and sell becomes dependent on one’s submission to a centralized power.
Financial experts like Catherine Austin Fitts have long warned of such developments. Her research into unaccounted government spending points to a broader agenda—one where digital systems become tools of control rather than efficiency. Fitts argues that CBDCs, when combined with artificial intelligence, could be used to implement personalized surveillance and restrictions based on behavior, dissent, or compliance. She points to real-world examples, such as the freezing of accounts during the Canadian trucker protests, as a foreshadowing of a financial system capable of punishing those who defy state-sanctioned narratives. At the heart of this agenda is a coordinated effort by institutions like the Bank of International Settlements to build the infrastructure necessary for global digital control, effectively converting currency into a mechanism of coercion.
This silent power shift—from elected governments to unelected central banks—represents the erosion of constitutional oversight. As central banks begin to assert control not just over monetary policy but also fiscal decisions like taxation and spending, the foundational principle of “no taxation without representation” is undermined. Economic hardship, inflation, and deglobalization are paving the way for this system to be accepted as a solution. But as prophetic voices have warned for decades, including Sir James Goldsmith in the 1990s, globalization and its fallout were never accidental—they were designed to weaken Western culture, hollow out the middle class, and destabilize the U.S. dollar. Revelation foretells this kind of global control, and with each passing legislative push like the GENIUS Act, we are drawing closer. Yet, amid the darkness, believers are reminded to “look up,” for our redemption is near—and the truth of Christ must be our rallying cry.
Stay Awake. Keep Watch.
