Global Survey: Antisemitism Tops Concerns

May 29, 2025

A recent global survey of over 10,000 Jewish respondents reveals that rising antisemitism is now the most urgent concern among Jewish communities worldwide. Commissioned by Voice of the People and supported by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, the World Zionist Organization, and the Jewish Agency for Israel, the study aims to guide a council of 150 global Jewish leaders in confronting the alarming rise in antisemitic incidents, especially in the wake of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks in Israel. The results reflect not just statistical trends but deep personal experiences of exclusion, hate speech, and fear—particularly among youth, in schools, on campuses, and across social media platforms. Despite the adversity, Voice of the People CEO Shirel Dagan-Levy said the community is "hurting, but also more united than ever."

The data also highlighted generational and geographic differences. Gen Z and millennials reported high levels of distress, especially related to online hostility and betrayal from former ideological allies. Generation X respondents noted their tendency to hide outward expressions of Jewish identity, while older generations voiced concerns about Israel’s future and rising global persecution. In Israel, nearly 90% expressed worry for Jews abroad, while U.S. and U.K. Jews criticized institutional failures to address growing hostility. Respondents from Latin America expressed both concern and pride, and those in Australia and South Africa emphasized education and activism as solutions. Ultimately, the study underscores both the growing threat of antisemitism and the enduring resilience and solidarity of Jewish communities across the globe.
