Greenland Becomes a Geopolitical Flashpoint

Jan 13, 2026

A bold and destabilizing move has just been introduced into global politics. A U.S. congressman has proposed legislation to annex Greenland and make it the 51st state of the United States, citing national security and control of key Arctic shipping lanes. Framed as a strategic necessity, the bill would authorize the president to negotiate with Denmark to acquire the massive, mineral-rich island. What was once dismissed as political theater is now being written into law, signaling a new era of aggressive territorial ambition.

Greenland is not just an icy expanse—it sits at the crossroads of emerging Arctic trade routes, military positioning, and future energy and mineral resources. Control of Greenland means control over northern sea lanes and a dominant role in the reshaping of global commerce. That is why this proposal has sent shockwaves through Europe and the NATO alliance. The bill’s language makes clear that Washington views Greenland as too important to leave under foreign control, even if that means upending long-standing alliances and international norms.

This development fits a larger pattern of nations scrambling for power, territory, and resources as the world moves toward the final convergence foretold in Scripture. Jesus warned that in the last days, nations would rise against nations and geopolitical tensions would escalate (Matthew 24:7). The push to control strategic corridors, trade routes, and critical infrastructure reflects the spirit of empire-building that will ultimately culminate in the global Beast system. Greenland’s sudden prominence is a reminder that the world is being reorganized—not toward peace, but toward competition and centralized power, exactly as prophecy predicts.
