Hamas Executes Dozens Accused of Treason

Oct 14, 2025

Just hours after the final Israeli hostages were released under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Hamas gunmen reportedly carried out mass executions across the Gaza Strip, killing more than 30 Palestinians accused of collaborating with Israel or committing treason. Witnesses described the events as a brutal display of power intended to restore Hamas’ control after months of devastating conflict. Reports indicate that at least 33 individuals were shot in multiple neighborhoods, accused of espionage or links to rival factions. Circulating videos appeared to show masked fighters forcing men to kneel before executing them at close range as onlookers shouted religious slogans, though major outlets such as Reuters have been unable to independently verify the footage or its exact location.

The killings occurred as Hamas began redeploying its Qassam Brigades back into Gaza’s streets, signaling an effort to reestablish dominance following heavy losses from Israeli military operations. The timing coincided with comments from U.S. President Donald Trump, who, while traveling from Jerusalem to Sharm el-Sheikh for ceasefire discussions, stated that Hamas would be allowed to “manage internal security in Gaza as it sees fit.” Observers say this tacit approval has emboldened the militant group to tighten its grip through fear and violence, raising serious concerns about the human cost of stability under Hamas rule.''
