"Hatred of Jews is a Spiritual Problem"

Feb 3, 2026

At the Second International Conference on Combating Antisemitism in Jerusalem, two voices cut through the political noise with unusual clarity. Mike Huckabee and Dinesh D’Souza rejected the familiar explanations that reduce antisemitism to economics, geopolitics, or party ideology. Instead, they named what many are reluctant to acknowledge: hatred of the Jewish people is fundamentally spiritual. Huckabee urged listeners to drop the sanitized language of “antisemitism” and call it what it is—Jew hatred—arguing that hostility toward the Jewish people flows directly from hostility toward the God they have historically represented.

Huckabee traced that hatred back to a rejection of the Creator Himself. When societies abandon God, enthrone the self, or replace Him with secular ideologies, nature worship, or revolutionary politics, the Jewish people inevitably become a target. He warned Christians not to view this as a distant problem, noting that history shows the hatred does not stop with Jews. Those who despise the God of Israel ultimately turn their animosity toward followers of Christ as well. D’Souza echoed this assessment, acknowledging political and cultural factors but conceding that they are incomplete explanations. Drawing on John Milton’s Paradise Lost, he pointed to a deeper, transcendent envy—an ancient resentment that mirrors Satan’s rage when confronted with God’s purposes unfolding through humanity.

The Bible warns that opposition to God will increasingly manifest as opposition to His covenant people, not because of policy disputes, but because of what they represent in God’s redemptive plan. As antisemitism accelerates globally and sheds all pretense of rational justification, it aligns with the biblical picture of end-times hostility toward both Israel and those aligned with the God of Scripture. What Huckabee and D’Souza articulated is not merely social analysis—it is a reminder that the battle unfolding in classrooms, streets, and governments is ultimately rooted in the unseen realm.
