"I Need to Hate Jews"

Feb 13, 2026

Canadian investigators are piecing together the digital trail left behind by an 18-year-old who carried out a deadly school shooting in British Columbia, killing six classmates and a teacher before also murdering two family members at home and taking his own life. In the days leading up to the attack, the suspect posted chilling statements online, including “I need to hate Jews,” language that researchers say reflects a clear pattern of antisemitic radicalization. Analysts from the Anti-Defamation League report that the shooter circulated violent extremist content, praised previous mass killers, and immersed himself in online spaces known for glorifying bloodshed and racial hatred.

According to researchers, the shooter’s digital footprint revealed a disturbing fusion of ideologies—neo-Nazi symbols, praise for past attackers, and inflammatory rhetoric targeting Jews and Israel. Investigators believe he was active on platforms associated with graphic violence and mass-casualty propaganda, illustrating how modern extremist ecosystems blur ideological lines while amplifying hatred. While authorities in Canada say the investigation is ongoing and have not yet declared an official motive, experts warn that such cases increasingly follow a familiar trajectory: isolation, online radicalization, dehumanization of Jews, and then real-world violence.
