IDF Kills 20 Hezbollah Fighters in Lebanon

Mar 19, 2026

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that it has eliminated more than 20 Hezbollah terrorists and destroyed dozens of militant sites during intensified operations in southern Lebanon over a 24-hour period. The strikes come amid escalating tensions along Israel’s northern border, where Hezbollah forces have remained active. In response to the growing conflict, the IDF also issued an urgent evacuation order for residents living south of the Zahrani River, signaling the seriousness of the military campaign and the potential for further escalation.

According to Israeli officials, the operations targeted Hezbollah fighters who were actively preparing attacks, including an incident in which militants attempted to launch anti-tank missiles at Israeli troops. Units from the Golani Brigade identified and neutralized the threat, highlighting the ongoing volatility in the region. Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group, continues to pose a significant threat to Israel, operating from within Lebanon while maintaining close ties to Tehran’s broader regional strategy.
