The fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah suffered another major setback this week as the Israel Defense Forces launched a sweeping series of airstrikes across Lebanon. According to the IDF, more than 80 Hezbollah targets were struck overnight following repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Iranian-backed terrorist organization. The operation came after four Israeli soldiers were killed, prompting a forceful response that targeted command centers, launch positions, terrorist operatives, and other military infrastructure in southern Lebanon and beyond.
Israeli military officials stated that dozens of Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated during the strikes. Among the most significant targets were two Hezbollah command centers located in the Bekaa Valley, which the IDF said were actively occupied by terrorists at the time of the attacks. The latest escalation underscores the persistent instability along Israel's northern border, where ceasefire agreements have repeatedly proven incapable of preventing renewed violence. Despite diplomatic efforts and international pressure, Hezbollah continues to maintain its military presence and operational capabilities throughout Lebanon.
