Iran Claims Seizure of Israeli Nuke Files

Jun 9, 2025

Iranian state media has reported that the country’s intelligence agencies have acquired a substantial cache of sensitive Israeli documents, some allegedly pertaining to Israel’s nuclear capabilities and operations. According to PressTV, the operation took place some time ago, but a news blackout was enforced to ensure the safe transfer of the materials into Iran. The report, citing unnamed sources, claims the trove includes documents, images, and videos so extensive that it has taken a significant amount of time to review. While Israel has not issued an official response, the disclosure comes amid rising tensions over Tehran’s nuclear activities and may be linked to an earlier cyberattack on an Israeli nuclear facility.

This revelation follows a history of intelligence and counterintelligence between the two adversaries. In 2018, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed Israeli agents had retrieved a large archive of Iranian nuclear documents, highlighting Tehran’s clandestine efforts. The current development adds a new twist to ongoing nuclear negotiations, especially as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently declared that halting uranium enrichment would go “100% against” Iran’s interests. Meanwhile, reports suggest that former U.S. President Donald Trump had halted an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear sites, opting instead for diplomatic talks. These escalating revelations underscore the deepening strategic conflict between Iran and Israel over nuclear dominance in the region.
