Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Iran’s internal collapse has now been dragged into the open. At an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council, Iranian dissidents delivered harrowing testimony describing a regime that has turned its weapons inward on its own population. What began as economic protests in late December 2025—sparked by currency collapse, soaring food prices, and inflation—has escalated into a nationwide crackdown marked by mass shootings, torture, and enforced silence. Witnesses described a deliberate communications blackout—no internet, no mobile service, no landlines—designed to erase evidence and conceal the true scale of the slaughter.
Journalist and dissident Masih Alinejad accused the Islamic Republic of operating a global campaign of transnational repression. She testified that the regime has attempted to assassinate her multiple times, including an alleged plot on American soil involving an American-based agent. Alinejad further warned that Iran’s reach extends beyond dissidents, stating that the regime has openly targeted President Donald Trump for assassination. The blackout inside Iran, she said, is meant to plunge the country into “total darkness” so crimes can be committed without witnesses, while funds stolen from the Iranian people continue flowing to Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
Human rights activist Ahmad Batebi went further, calling Iran’s leadership a “demonic cult” whose primary mission is the exportation of its radical theology beyond its borders. He rejected official casualty figures outright, claiming that not merely thousands—but tens of thousands of Iranians—have been killed, with bodies buried anonymously and families denied access or answers. According to Batebi, the numbers being reported publicly are a fraction of the real toll.
From a biblical perspective, this moment is sobering. Scripture warns of regimes that cloak themselves in religious authority while committing violence and exporting deception (Daniel 7; Isaiah 10:1–2). Persia’s growing brutality, its global reach, and its hostility toward both its own people and world leaders align with the prophetic trajectory Scripture outlines for the last days—where tyranny, spiritual deception, and international confrontation converge rapidly.
