Iran's Next Leader Already Targeted

Mar 4, 2026

Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued a stark warning to Tehran: any successor to Iran’s slain Supreme Leader will be considered a legitimate target if they continue the regime’s hostile policies. Speaking amid the ongoing Operation Roaring Lion campaign, Katz said Israel is prepared to act “by any means necessary” against anyone who leads efforts to threaten Israel, the United States, or regional allies. According to Israeli leadership, the directive is simple—if the regime continues its aggression, its leadership will remain in Israel’s crosshairs.

The warning comes as speculation grows over who will replace the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Reports suggest that Mujtaba Khamenei, the son of the former supreme leader, is a leading candidate, though no official announcement has been made. Meanwhile, Israel continues coordinated military operations with the United States aimed at degrading Iran’s military infrastructure and leadership network. The strategy signals that Israel is no longer targeting only weapons systems and facilities, but the ideological leadership driving Tehran’s regional ambitions.
