Tensions across the Middle East escalated dramatically overnight as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched missile and drone attacks against Kuwait and Bahrain following a series of American strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island. Explosions were reported on the island before air raid sirens and intercept operations were activated across the Gulf region. The IRGC claimed responsibility for the attacks, describing them as retaliation for recent U.S. military actions. The incident marks another dangerous escalation in an already volatile standoff involving Iran, the United States, and several key Gulf nations.
According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), American forces successfully intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones while conducting additional self-defense strikes against military targets on Qeshm Island. CENTCOM reported that several Iranian missiles launched toward neighboring countries either failed in flight or were intercepted before reaching their targets. Three missiles fired toward Bahrain were reportedly destroyed by combined American and Bahraini air defense systems, while additional Iranian drones aimed at civilian maritime traffic were shot down over regional waters. No American casualties were reported.
