Vladimir Putin's officials are worried he could be about to unleash nuclear weapons on Ukraine, according to Mirror.
Kremlin insiders are said to be growing increasingly concerned that Putin is prepared to detonate a tactical nuclear weapon to end the stalemate as he airs his frustration over a lack of progress in the war. It comes after warnings from multiple intelligence agencies, including the CIA, that Russia is readying a new round of escalation in the autumn.
A nuclear strike is said to be among the options being considered within the Kremlin - while sabotage attacks on key infrastructure across Europe and armed provocations inside Poland also feature in the top-level plans.
