Islam Rising as Christianity Declines in U.S.

Oct 24, 2025

America’s spiritual landscape is shifting at an unprecedented rate. Once recognized as a nation firmly rooted “under God,” the United States is rapidly moving toward a post-Christian identity. According to Pew Research, Christianity has fallen from 90% of the population in 1970 to just 62% today — and if current trends continue, it could drop below 46% by 2070. Meanwhile, Islam is projected to become the fastest-growing faith in the country, fueled by immigration, birth rates, and declining Christian evangelism.

Pastor Brent Madaris and other Christian leaders warn this transformation is not merely cultural but prophetic. They see it as evidence of a nation turning away from biblical truth, aligning with the global religious convergence foretold in Scripture. As Christianity’s influence wanes and secularism and Islam rise, America’s moral and spiritual foundations continue to erode. The warning from watchmen is clear: a spiritual void never stays empty — it will be filled by another faith, another authority, and another kingdom. The question is, whose?
