Dearborn Public Schools in Michigan have launched a new initiative to provide free Iftar meals during Ramadan for Muslim students to take home and eat after sundown. This move, initiated by Superintendent Glenn Maleyko, is meant to support students observing Islamic fasting during the month of Ramadan. The program, available in middle and high schools, provides Halal-only meals and is funded by taxpayers. Critics argue this practice crosses a constitutional line by using public funds to promote a specific religion.


The article claims that this mandate forces even non-Muslim students, including Christians and Catholics, to consume Halal food—meat that has been ritually sacrificed according to Islamic law. This has sparked backlash among parents and legal experts, who believe that the schools are privileging Islamic religious practices while neglecting others, thus violating principles of religious neutrality in public education.


This situation reflects a society drifting from its Judeo-Christian foundation. When government institutions promote one religion at the expense of others under the guise of inclusivity, it mirrors the apostasy described in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 and the spiritual deception warned about in 1 Timothy 4:1.
