A remarkable new chapter in Israel’s regathering story unfolded as 240 immigrants from India’s Bnei Menashe community arrived at Ben Gurion Airport on April 23. The group was welcomed by senior Israeli leaders in an emotional ceremony marking the launch of Operation “Wings of Dawn.” The Bnei Menashe, who trace their ancestry to the biblical tribe of Manasseh, have spent generations in northeastern India while preserving traditions tied to ancient Israel. Their arrival represents the first wave of a larger effort to bring the remaining members of the community home.
Israeli officials announced that this operation is designed to complete the Aliyah of the Bnei Menashe community. Around 600 immigrants are expected to arrive over the next two weeks through three separate flights. By the end of 2026, another 1,200 are projected to immigrate, with the broader plan aiming to bring roughly 6,000 people to Israel in total by 2030. Many of the new arrivals are young families who will begin their lives in absorption centers in Nof HaGalil and other northern cities, where some will also reunite with relatives who came in earlier years.
The initiative was approved by the Israeli government last year and involves cooperation between multiple ministries, The Jewish Agency, and supporters of Israel worldwide. Leaders called the moment historic, describing Aliyah as a central force in Israel’s continued growth. They also emphasized the emotional importance of family reunification and the commitment to help these immigrants build new lives in the land of Israel. As more flights prepare to land, Operation Wings of Dawn is becoming one of the most significant modern efforts to complete the return of an ancient Jewish community.
For prophecy watchers, each plane landing in Israel is another reminder of the promises spoken through the prophets. Scripture declares that the Lord would gather His people from the nations and bring them back to their own land from the four corners of the earth. What once seemed impossible is unfolding in real time as Jewish communities long scattered across continents continue returning home. From distant India to the hills of Galilee, the regathering continues step by step, showing that the word of God has not failed and His covenant purposes are still moving forward.
