Israel’s conflict with Iran has escalated sharply after Israeli officials confirmed the elimination of Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib during intensified strikes as part of Operation Roaring Lion. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the operation has entered a decisive phase, declaring that Israel will pursue and neutralize senior Iranian leadership involved in threats against the Jewish state. Katz described Khatib as a key architect of Iran’s internal repression and foreign operations, while emphasizing that Israel has authorized the military to target additional senior Iranian figures without further political approval.

The growing regional conflict has also spread beyond Israel’s borders. The United Arab Emirates reported more than 2,000 Iranian missile and drone attacks since late February, including hundreds of ballistic missiles. While many of the projectiles were intercepted by Emirati defense systems, the strikes still resulted in 8 deaths. Meanwhile, inside Israel, a tragic Iranian missile strike in Ramat Gan claimed the lives of an elderly couple who had been injured during the attack, highlighting the human toll of the expanding conflict.
