Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

A new survey from the Jewish People Policy Institute reveals a sobering reality: nearly two-thirds of American Jews who feel strongly connected to their faith or to Israel now view the Jewish state as the safest place in the world for Jews to live. The finding reflects a growing sense of unease among Jewish communities in the United States and abroad, driven largely by the sharp rise in global antisemitism since October 7 and the cultural hostility increasingly tolerated in Western societies. For many respondents, Israel is no longer just a homeland—it is a refuge.
The survey shows that concern is not abstract. Forty percent of respondents cited antisemitism as the primary reason they would consider immigrating to Israel, with the strongest conviction found among Orthodox and Haredi Jews. While only a small percentage are actively planning to move, a large majority said they would consider aliyah under worsening conditions. The trend line is unmistakable: as hostility toward Jews becomes more normalized in classrooms, media, and public life, confidence in the safety of the diaspora is eroding.
From a biblical and prophetic perspective, this shift carries deep significance. Scripture repeatedly foretells a latter-days regathering of the Jewish people to the land of Israel—not only through blessing, but also through pressure and persecution (Ezekiel 36–37; Zephaniah 3:19–20). Rising antisemitism acts as a divine megaphone, reminding the world that Jewish safety outside the land is ultimately fragile. While Israel itself will face great trials ahead, the growing instinct among Jews to look toward their ancestral homeland aligns with the prophetic pattern of return setting the stage for the final chapters of redemptive history.
