Israel Strike Injures Iran’s President

Jul 14, 2025

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sustained a minor leg injury during an Israeli airstrike, according to Iran’s Fars News Agency. The incident, which occurred during a high-level Supreme National Security Council meeting in western Tehran on June 16, has triggered an extensive internal investigation to uncover possible Israeli informants within the regime. Al Jazeera cited an unnamed Iranian official warning that the “assassination attempt” on President Pezeshkian “will not go unanswered” and that “Israel will pay the price.”

Fars, closely linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that the strike targeted both the entry and exit points of the building to hinder evacuation and disrupt airflow. The attack reportedly echoed the precision tactics used in the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah the previous year. Alongside Pezeshkian, several senior officials—including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Judiciary Chief Mohseni Ajei—were in attendance. Despite the coordinated assault and a brief power outage, the leaders managed to escape through a pre-planned emergency exit. The precision of the attack has raised suspicions of insider collaboration with Israel.
