Israel Strikes Houthi Targets in Yemen

Sep 11, 2025

The IDF launched Operation Ringing Bells on Wednesday, striking deep inside Yemen’s capital of Sanaa and the eastern al-Jawf region in response to repeated Houthi drone attacks against Israel, including one that hit Ramon Airport’s passenger terminal last week. Israeli fighter jets targeted multiple Houthi military installations, marking one of the most direct escalations against the Iranian-backed group. The strikes hit military camps, command centers, and intelligence hubs used for planning terror operations against Israel.

According to the IDF, the operation also destroyed the Houthis’ propaganda division, which had been distributing speeches by group leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi and spokesman Yahya Sarea, as well as a fuel storage facility supporting their operations. The Houthis acknowledged the strikes and said their air defense systems had been activated in response. Israel emphasized that the strikes were a direct retaliation for continued drone launches, underscoring its intent to cripple the Houthis’ ability to incite, plan, and carry out further attacks.
