Israel Strikes Top Iranian Leaders

Apr 6, 2026

The Israel Defense Forces has carried out a series of high-level targeted strikes in Tehran, eliminating multiple senior figures within Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps leadership. Among those reportedly killed was Majid Khadami, head of the IRGC’s intelligence organization, with Israeli officials confirming responsibility for the operation. The strike marks a significant escalation in Israel’s campaign against Iran’s military and intelligence infrastructure.

Additional operations targeted key commanders tied to Iran’s elite Quds Force. Asghar Bagheri, who led the Quds Force’s Special Operations Unit 840, was eliminated in a precision airstrike, along with other senior figures involved in military planning and coordination. In separate strikes, Israeli forces also eliminated Mohammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, a senior IRGC official tied to energy operations, as well as the artillery chief of the IRGC’s Imam Hussein Division, dealing further blows to Iran’s command structure.

These coordinated strikes highlight an intensifying shadow conflict between Israel and Iran, with operations now reaching deep into the Iranian capital. The removal of multiple high-ranking officials in rapid succession signals a strategic effort to disrupt Iran’s operational capabilities and influence across the region. As tensions continue to rise, the situation underscores the fragile and volatile nature of the broader Middle East conflict.
