Israel’s National Security Council (NSC) issued a sobering warning on Sunday, cautioning that Israelis and Jews abroad face heightened terror threats as the holiday season approaches. The assessment pointed specifically to the October 7 anniversary of Hamas’s massacre in southern Israel as a date of particular concern. While no new travel advisories were issued, the council urged vigilance, advising Israelis to avoid displaying Jewish or Israeli symbols, refrain from speaking Hebrew in public, and limit sharing personal details online that could expose them to danger.

The NSC stressed that Iran, along with its proxies Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as global jihadi groups such as al-Qaeda, ISIS, and al-Shabab, remain determined to target Jews and Israelis worldwide. Hamas, it noted, has expanded efforts beyond the Gaza war to establish terrorist infrastructure abroad. The council also highlighted a surge in antisemitic violence and incitement across social media platforms, much of it fueled by ongoing anti-Israel campaigns, and warned that Iran’s push for retaliation increases the risks even further.
