Israeli ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon has warned that the terror threat in Judea and Samaria is “real and imminent,” pointing to recent discoveries of rocket-building facilities just miles from major Israeli cities. Speaking before the U.N. Security Council, Danon revealed that Israeli forces dismantled a missile production site near Ramallah, less than 13 miles from Jerusalem, where several rockets were already assembled and minutes away from being launched. Days later, another weapons depot was uncovered in Tulkarm, only 15 miles from the coastal city of Netanya. One rocket at the site was so unstable it had to be immediately neutralized by bomb disposal experts.

“These are not far-off threats,” Danon stressed, describing the sites as “hidden workshops of death” planted dangerously close to Israeli communities. He cautioned that Judea and Samaria, often seen as more stable than Gaza, is now being used by terror groups to prepare attacks during Israel’s ongoing war with Hamas. Drawing parallels to Gaza’s trajectory two decades ago, where small workshops evolved into a massive terror infrastructure, Danon warned the Council that ignoring the danger would repeat past mistakes. He urged the international community not to reward Palestinian leadership with state recognition while they fail to suppress Hamas-affiliated terror networks, insisting that inaction will only embolden those plotting Israel’s destruction.
